Tantrum Tuesday!

My sweet little 13.5 month old has chucked his first three tantrums!!

1. not wanting to get in the carseat - squirming and screaming and arching his back
2. lying on the floor and screaming
3. not wanting to get in the highchair - squirming and screaming and arching his back

I assume that I need to get tantrums under control at home before I can tackle the carseat issue (it may even get rid of the car seat issue).

About a month ago OB and I went shopping and OB didn't want to get back in the car after we were finished. He chucked a 'wobbly' and arched his back and I just could not get him in his seat. I had to just wait until he calmed down, take him back into the shops and then try again. He won that battle.

After OB's afternoon sleep he has "fruit time". A few days ago OB woke up, had cuddles but then refused to sit in his high chair. He was screaming and arching his back - it seemed for no reason at all - so I put him back in his cot for 30 seconds. I went back in and got him and tried again but he still would not sit in his chair. I put him back in the cot for another 30 seconds and this time he sat in his chair calmly. He proceeded to eat his fruit and drink his water.

We haven't had another one yet, and its been about 4 days. But I have been thinking about it ever since and wondering how i'm going to handle the next time....probably just the same (unless I'm downtown).

Would love some helpful websites or books or anything....
